Hace ya muchos años que colecciono problemas de Mate en 2. Comenzando por el recorte de estos en diarios y revistas, seguí luego utilizando softwares específicos (Problemiste, MatPlus, etc).
Como se sabe, estos problemas son posiciones de las piezas en el tablero, debiendo jugar las blancas, y efectuar un movimiento (¡sólo uno!) que sea de tal tipo que-contesten lo que contesten las negras-la segunda movida de las blancas será mate indefectiblemente y sin escape posible.
Con el correr del tiempo, descubro que he acumulado de múltiples fuentes más de 22.000 problemas. Y es entonces cuando me parece que es hora de compartirlos, siendo esta página web un medio tan bueno como otros.
Muchos de estos problemas fueron incorporados de formato .pbm, .pgn o .fen. Es decir, ya estaban digitalizados. Otros han sido digitalizados a partir de archivos .pdf o .djvu de viejas revistas, libros y diarios de ajedrez: y son estos, quizás, los que me hacen sentir mejor, pues creo que su digitalización constituye una salvaguarda mínima inicial de su frágil existencia de papel.
Valga entonces esta presentación como pequeño homenaje a los miles de problemistas que han aportado con su imaginación y creatividad a esta disciplina, muchos de ellos conocidos, otros perdidos en el tiempo.
Y sería absolutamente injusto de mi parte no agradecer aquí a aquellos que tanto han hecho por este bello arte, con trabajos de años: Matthieu Leschemelle, Vaclav Kotesovec, Alain Godbout, Milan Velimirovic, Christian Poisson, Juraj Lorinc, Antonio Garofalo, Manolis Stratakis, Gerd Wilts, Torsten Linss y tantos otros...

Already for many years I collect problems of Mate in 2. Beginning for the cuting of these in newspapers and magazines, I kept on using specific softwares (Problemiste, MatPlus, etc).
Since it is known, these problems are positions of the pieces in the board, where the white ones must play and made movement (only one!) that is of such type that -answer what they answer the black ones- the second action of the white will be checkmate, unfailingly and without possible leakage.
Along the time, I discover that I have accumulated from multiple sources more than 22.000 problems. And it is then when it seems to me that it is time to share them, being this web page a way as good as others.
Many of these problems were incorporated from .pbm, .pgn or .fen files. That is to say, already they were digitized. Others have been digitized from .pdf or .djvu files of old chess magazines, books and newspapers: and those are, perhaps, who make feel me better, since I believe that his digitization constitutes a minimal initial preserve of his fragile paper existence.
Take then this presentation as a small homage to the thousands of problemists that have give his imagination and creativity to this discipline, many of them well-known, others lost in the time.
